Wait, you want to see a movie that was an influence in I Heart Huckabee's?
Woah dude.

Jungle Fever is another one.
When you get past Spike Lee's detestation of white people, you can see how great some of his films are.

The last two Alien films. Not as good as Alien and Aliens but much better than the pile of crap that was Alien vs Predator.

I have to go with an old classic, and and old favorite of all..... Girls Gone Wild: Doggy Style starring Snoop Dogg. From beginning to end, this wonderful peice of cinemia kept me intrigued. Run out and buy this right now, because the Doggfather takes you on a journey you will never forget. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me lock my bedroom door.
A Masterpiece. Very Underrated.

Confidence, with Ed Burns, Rachel Weisz, Dustin Hoffman and Andy Garcia. It's a pretty formulaic con movie, but it serves its purpose and is very entertaining, slick and cool.

Dead Man's ShoesThe film is set in the midlands and is directed by Shane Meadows. He also wrote the script along with the star Paddy Considine. It's won awards but I never know anybody who has seen it. Here's the plot: The story revolves around the character of Richard (Considine), a soldier returning to his small home town in the Peak District. Considine's character has returned home to exact revenge on his mentally disabled younger brother Anthony's (Toby Kebell) tormentors who are also Richard's former friends.
Richard and Anthony camp at an abandoned farm above the town, their reminiscences of childhood interspersed with flashbacks of Anthony's torment at the hands of the town's youth, and Richard's subsequent revenge on them. The film sometimes stutters and early on there is an overuse of music. However the gritty realism of the movie along with the great performances is worth while. It's a little gory but worth watching for the shocking twist ending. One that I didn't even see coming. A little gem of British cinema, maybe not to everyone's taste but worth a try. I've finally seen this film from start to finish, and I agree, it needs far more attention. Paddy Considine was fucking frightening and totally awesome at the same time.

Alot of the films listed aren't underratted as they got great reviews but just weren't accepted by mainstream audiences.
