But any hee here comes some news. bloody-disgusting.com "An Atomic Mistake? '28 Weeks Later' for Teens Get more on Zombie Movies | Posted 03.31.06 @ 09:02 am ] Now here's some truly disturbing news. Fox Searchlight's new teen division is moving full speed ahead, with a name, new hires and several projects in development. The first release from Fox Atomic is expected by the end of the year, and a full slate of pics is expected for 2007, according to Variety. So why the long face? This "teen division" will be responsible for the sequel to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, which is still titled 28 Weeks Later. According to the article the sequel will be produced by Danny Boyle, Alex Garland and Andrew Macdonald, and scripted by Garland. More news as it comes in. The plot: England has basically been abandoned, and there's been no life there for six months. The Americans arrive to start it back up again, to reboot it. " First off i hate Fox but now they're doing a teen division, hmm yeah,..fuck that. Secondly a sequel would suck imo, and the plot sounds ify, but i'll still see it. Atleast Garland is still writing it. According to sources close to us, the infamous director Dr. Uwe Boll will be joining the growing list of famous directors who will take part in Mick Garris' Masters of Horror: Season 2, which will air on Showtime later this year. Uwe became a household name after delivering us Artisan's House of the Dead, Lionsgate's classic Alone in the Dark and this past January's release of BloodRayne. Inside we have word directly from Dr. Boll about this monumental announcement, along with some pictures of props being used in his film, which is entitled 'Plan 8 from Outer Space'..." b-d "Serial Killer Helmer Heads to 'Elm Street' Get more on Nightmare On Elm Street | Posted 04.02.06 @ 12:09 pm ] The other day Icons of Fright posted an interview with Robert Englund, who is best known as Freddy Krueger in New Line Cinema's A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. It's no secret that New Line has been working on a prequel to the films, which would tell the story behind the capture of the child-killer. Here at B-D we've known for quite sometime who would be directing the Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel, but we were sworn to secrecy-- so we can confirm that Icon's report that John (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) McNaughton is in talks to helm the highly anticipated prequel! Read on for the goods... Robert tells Icons of Fright, "I will tell you that John (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) McNaughton is tapped to direct. I think it should go the "CSI" route and be sort of like a docu-drama that shows his crimes against the children. Then you cast two of the greatest character actors you can find to play the lawyers that get him off. Then of course it leads up to Freddy being burned alive." No word yet on when we'll see the film, assuming it gets off the ground. Right now let's focus on Platinum Dunes' remake of Friday the 13th. " Henry's not too bad. "'The Grudge 2' Begins Shoot, Changes Date & Teases Get more on The Grudge | Posted 04.02.06 @ 11:53 am ] I thought it was an April Fool's Day joke until someone tipped me off to the official website for Sony Screen Gems' The Grudge 2, which is now hitting theaters October 13th. Inside you can check out the teaser image I was sent the other day, which is part of the website's basic launch. Being directed once again by creator Takashi Shimizu, the sequel to the $100 million smash hit is now filming in Japan. The sequel, which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Amber Tamblyn, Arielle Kebbel, Teresa Palmer and Jennifer Beals, delves into the secrets behind the grudge's wrath and introduces a seemingly unrelated host of new characters who find themselves connected by the curse. The only way a ANOES prequel is gonna work is if they do it with a really sick, twisted sense of humour and oddity. The entire film itself should be a living nightmare, so it doesn't come across as a tame Man Bites Dog. The Freddy's childhood flashback scenes in Freddy's Dead paint a horrifying picture, but it has to be a little surreal if he aint gonna kill the kiddies in their sleep. I guess I'm asking for a little more Twin Peaks to it, a little(ahem on my current horror fad)Tales from the Crypt dark comedy and a little surrealism. Oh well, guess we'll all have to wait and see.
PS, the best director for this project IMO, has gotta be Zak Snyder, but then again Hardcore, I fucking love the new Dawn!!!

"Freddy Vs.Jason Vs.Michael Vs. The Sceptics Posted by Clint Morris on April 3, 2006 Robert Englund is again beating his drum to the tune of a “Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Michael” movie – I do wonder whether New Line are on the same frequency?
Talking to PitofHorror.com, the face behind ‘Freddy’, again spoke of a potential “Freddy Vs. Jason” sequel that would rope “Halloween” rogue Michael Myers into proceedings.
“Well, there are so many rumors, but I know for a fact there have been talks with John Carpenter”, says Englund, whose been championing the idea for longer than Schwarzenegger’s been in office.
“My idea would of course have to take place before Jamie Lee [Curtis] is killed in Halloween 8. Almost as if Freddy Vs. Jason vs. Michael Myers happened in the nineties or something. Kind of like Alien 2 goes to Springwood or something, bring back Jamie Lee’s daughter (Jamie Lloyd) and maybe she could have some sort of goth expertise that would make it to where these guys couldn’t stand a chance. I’d love to give Jamie Lee something to sink her teeth into as an actress. Throw away the pills, throw away the cigarettes, throw away the little bottles of Vodka…”
Something that sounds closer to happening is the equally-as-long-gestating “A Nightmare on Elm Street” prequel. According to Englund, it has a director.
“I will tell you that John (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) McNaughton is tapped to direct. I think it should go the "CSI" route and be sort of like a docu-drama that shows his crimes against the children. Then you cast two of the greatest character actors you can find to play the lawyers that get him off. Then of course it leads up to Freddy being burned alive.”.
I’m with the sceptics…as big a fan of the franchise as I am (and I am, got the talking doll to prove it – OK, it’s my wifes, but still…), I’ll believe it when I see it."
Eh, idk about bring back Jamie(the girl not Curtis)

"'Zombies' Loses Hooper and Scripting Duo [ Get more Zombie Movies news | Posted on 04.04.06 @ 03:40 pm ]
Millennium/Nu Image has officially wrapped shooting on their latest horror pic Zombies, which Tobe Hooper was originally announced as directing, re-teaming with Mortuary writers Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson -- only that's not the case, according to Fangoria. They report that J.S. Cardone (The Foresaken, 8MM 2) actually helmed the film and that Gierasch and Anderson's script was not used. In the film Lori Heuring plays a widowed mother of two who takes up residency near an old mine where a group of children were buried alive. Geoffrey (The Devil's Rejects) Lewis and Chloe (The Amityville Horror remake) Moretz also star. More details soon. "

"Bell and Smith return for Saw 3 Posted by Clint Morris on April 6, 2006 Can’t keep a dying serial killer down it seems… with Tobin Bell confirmed to reprise his role as the villainous ‘Jigsaw’ from “Saw” and “Saw 2” for the inevitable “Saw 3”.
According to SneakPeek, Shawnee Smith, who played Amanda (subject of an interesting little twist at the end of “Saw 2”, which we won’t reveal here), in the first two films, is also returning. How good has this series been to Shawnee? Seriously, whoever thought it would get much better for the lovely lass than playing the ditzy subordinate on TV’s “Becker”? I’m sure she’s smiling.
The film, again directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (“Saw 2”), will shoot in Toronto from May 1-June 12 for a release on October 27.
And to think we had to wait all those years for “The Empire Strikes Back” - - - - a cough and a sneeze later, and we’ve already got a follow-up to a film that's .not even had time to cool from the spool."
I'll see it.
"Exclusive Interview : James Gunn Posted by Clint Morris on April 6, 2006 It’s been quite an interesting journey for James Gunn. Kicking off his career at Troma, and then exporting his rear to uber-studio ville where he penned the first two “Scooby Doo” films, before shifting gears and penning the remake of horror classic “Dawn of the Dead” – he’s a hard man to pigeonhole. His latest cab off the rank, is “Slither”, a funky horror effort that also serves as his directorial debut. Gunn talks to CLINT MORRIS about it.
James, how does one go from “Scooby Doo” to “Slither”? I can assume that horror films were always the main interest? I love horror films, but I've always loved fictional pieces that explore the darker side of life, whether they be the horror films of David Cronenberg or the novels of Charles Bukowski. Because the stories I tell are usually of a fantastic nature, I seem quite at home in horror. I don't know if the question is so much how does one go from Scooby to Slither as how did I get to Scooby in the first place after having only written profanity-laden R-rated films. And, that, I guess, would have to be circumstance.
Speaking of which, how was it to make “Slither” with a big studio, in comparison to some of your earlier films at Troma? I had more freedom on Slither than any other movie I've worked on. Universal and Gold Circle were involved, they threw out ideas, suggestions, and criticisms, but essentially they let me do what I wanted.
Did you get a huge say in casting? If so, how did you decide on your actors? Yes, all of the actors were my choices. I simply worked very very hard to find actors who fit the roles I had written. Some were easy: we hired Elizabeth Banks and Michael Rooker immediately. Others took a long time to find, like Gregg Henry and Tania Saulnier. Nathan Fillion was a natural for Bill Pardy, but it took some arguing on my part to get him the role. I love the cast of this film -- not only are they great in the movie, they're wonderful, warm, and funny people. It’s How does “Slither” differ from some of the other horror films out there? It's a lot funnier than other horror films out there, I suppose. Its boundaries aren't so strict, in terms of what genre we're dabbling in. And I think, despite the violence and gore, it's a hell of a lot of fun, something lacking in most current horror films.
Did you enjoy the responsibility of directing this one? Loved it. I loved being able to see the vision of the script through to the end. Of course, you have to sacrifice your life during the process, something you don't have to do so much as a screenwriter. But, what the hell. Life is what happens in-between making movies.
Tell us about the hardest day on the shoot? We shoot a lover's quarrel of sorts between Starla Grant (Elizabeth Banks) and her husband Grant Grant (Michael Rooker). It's like any other argument between a husband and a wife, except that Grant takes up half the house at that point and has many enormous tentacles growing from him. 95% of what makes the scene work are the performances between the two actors, but 95% of dealing with the scene on set was trying to get the fucking puppeteered tentacles to move right, and feeling sorry for poor Michael Rooker in this agonizing makeup.
Did anything have to be cut from the film - in order to get its rating? Nope. We got an R the first time through.
What is next for you? I'm writing a movie about Satan. However, since “Slither” came out I am having a ton of other projects being thrown at me. So if there's something that comes in that I fall in love with, I could direct that before the Satan movie. So who knows? I'm aching to direct again, but it has to be the right thing. It’s Are you involved in the next "Dead" sequel? Loved doing the first one. Not interested in doing another. But I wish them all the best if they do it, and would be involved as a friend to the producer, Eric Newman, and Zack Snyder, the director, if they are involved.
I’ve heard rumours of a “Scooby Doo 3”, possibly direct-to-video, any truth to that? Well, I don't think there's currently ANY Scooby Doo sequel happening. But I think direct-to-DVD is probably the way to go. The cast is getting older, and I don't know if anyone wants a 40-year-old Mystery Ink. A lower budget DVD with a fun cast and a new spin on the series would probably be a smart thing. But, again, I'm not going to be a part of it."
Hmm a film on Satan.

Aside from the expected Masters, some of the spotted people were: Adam Green (Hatchet), Anthony Ferrante (Boo!), Tim Sullivan and the 2001 Maniacs crew, including the always beautiful Christa Campbell and Wendy Kremer, Tiffany Shepis (Abominable) was in full force looking as foxy as ever. Also, Ryan Schifrin (Abominable director and his hot wife), Eli Roth (of course), Mike Mendez (The Gravedancers), Oakley Stevenson (The Convent), James Wan (Saw, Silence), Jeff Rector (Pray Another Day), Mercedes McNab (Hatchet, and Buffy), Dave Parker (Dead Hate The Living), Jeremy Kasten (Wizard of Gore, All Souls Day) Jay Woelfel (Ghost Lake), Writer Jeffrey Red**** (Tamara), Rolfe Kanefsky (Nightmare Man), Evan Katz (Mortuary, Head Sick), Ti West (The Roost)… And, of course, I can't forget my press buddies: from Fango, Ryan Rotten, Staci Layne and Enzo of Horror.com, Sean and Andrew of The Horror Channel, Robert and crew from IGN. There were so many people, I know I haven’t mentioned them all but you get the gist of what was going on (my sincere apologies for not mentioning everyone!)
I will just show you a few pictures and say that it was a HELL of an event at the Ivar bar in Hollywood. Mick Garris and his crew really know how to throw a party. As for as insider scoops, there were some juicy ones, but none fit for print quite yet… we will keep you posted. "

I've always said Zombie should try and create an HBO series that just goes totally off the wall, with out "limits". Not even horror, just something that would get acclaim with a nice little budget. Maybe something to do with his Taxi Driver/Ghost World project, something quirky.
I really would like to see David Fincher do some tv, maybe Verhoeven and my boy B-D-P!

One of B-D's very first members 'Jasonlives 1986' dropped in a scoop this morning from last night's Boston Celtics game where Saw II star Donnie Wahlberg was in attendance. 'Jasonlives1986' writes, "I don't remember if when you broke the news on Saw III that you mentioned Donnie Whalberg being in it or not, but if not then let me tell you that last night while watching the Boston Celtics game in Toronto he did some commentary and mentioned that he will indeed return for the third movie." Earlier this week both Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith were confirmed as returning as well- it sounds to me like there's a massive surprise hiding in there. It was revealed yesterday that newcomer Matt Venne will pen the script for Rogue Pictures' remake of the cult classic vampire film Near Dark, according to Dread Central. Today Fangoria got word from Venne, who wrote White Noise 2, which is currently shooting in Vancouver, “The film is a gritty look at the life of this small group of people trekking through the Southwest—who also happen to be vampires. In combination with that realistic approach, though, there are images in the original film and in Eric Red and Kathryn Bigelow’s screenplay that are absolutely beautiful. Completely dreamy and captivating. Pure poetry. It’s an incredible project, and I’m honored to be writing it.” Click the link below for the full story. Hot off of directing the horror remake The Hills Have Eyes, Alexandre Aja (High Tension) is going Into the Mirror for Regency Enterprises, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The director has signed on to direct the horror movie after a deal with Sanji Senaka fell through. The story follows a security guard at a high-end department store who begins to investigate mysterious deaths occurring in front of the stores' mirrors. He soon discovers that there are murderous reflections out for revenge. The script was written by Jim Uhls and Joe Gangemi, with a polish by Kieran and Michelle Mulroney. The script "had a completely new concept with terror elements that anyone can relate to," Aja said. *The article forgets to mention one major thing... this is a remake of a Korean film of the same name from 2003, which I thoroughly enjoyed. "Chainsaw Reviews The MASTERS OF HORROR Episode Showtime Will Not Colorcast!! Takashi Miike’s IMPRINT!! I am – Hercules!! Takashi Miike made an episode of “Masters of Horror” titled “Imprint” - but it freaked Showtime out, and we Americans will have to wait a few months before it’s issued on region-one DVD. But the Bravo Channel in the U.K. didn’t puss out, and colorcast it tonight in all its bloody glory. “Chainsaw” has a review. WOW, Takashi Miike leaves a further "Imprint" on my brain. I for one was affected quite a bit by Audition but felt it was a masterpiece of light and darkness be it with a loose wire here and there.
Harry if you use this call me Chainsaw, I just found some fuel, the saw is operational and the blood is VERY RED!!!
So we hear stories from the US about Showtime not airing this particular episode from our good friend Miike. So we think ahh what a bunch of pussies... I mean how bad can it be it was made for bloody TV... So tired though I am with the haunting of Audition peering out from my left pussy ocular, I sit down to watch Bravo UK and all that is Takashi.
Those not wishing to read spoilers you may leave your shoes at the door right there, for the rest c'mon in the sake is warm and bloody. I don't want to spoil the story but to summarize Billy Drago plays a man searching for his "long lost" girlfriend using clues in what seems like a stage in the old east, that being where Ninja's rule the earth and Darth V@d@r lies dead with a shuriken star sticking out his voice box. A clue brings Drago to a desolate island and we begin the Takashi nightmare with a floating bloated corpse, that aint just fog in the air...
Drago finds himself in a whorehouse and the night air brings a meeting with a young girl who definitely stands out with a smile. You see Drago's old girlfriend happened to chance upon this island and befriended this young girl who works there spreading more than her butter on toast. She tells the girl how she is waiting for Drago as he promised to find her and take her back to America ala Air Support. So the young girl recounts two versions of the same story with a bit of a nod to Hero style scriptwriting and end up with a nasty twisted affair that would you believe shocked me. Yes me the lover of blood and gore, and Cannibal Holocaust still the most shocking movie ever to burn the retinas out of my eyes.
We have shock torture via pins under fingernails and through gums, abortion country style using bare hands, bloody aborts heading downstream, and a twin sister who should just stay hidden.
That's it I have spoilt it enough but will sum up by saying SEE THIS EPISODE, I LOVED IT. Bloody, Messy and Disturbing just like my coffee.
I have a feeling the force will be strong with this one on the torrenty streams of the big bad internet. The demand will be high for this episode be it as 1's and 0's streaming into your PC, or the preferred and legal way via uncut DVD.
Thanks Takashi, as usual you don't disappoint, like a mallet to the head. If this does not make any sense I am not surprised, it is the wee hours of the morning as I type...
The fuel runs out, the saw grinds to a halt, the drip of blood to the floor is the only sound to be left...
Chainsaw
Even we lowly Americans can watch the “Imprint” promo here. "
