Eh, looks ok, i'll see it simply for the fact that it involves zombies. As for Miner well i have a "guilty pleasure" thing for the Friday the 13 series, and 3d might be the best of the bunch(that or 6). House is a pretty decent flick, for those of us in the states, it's on AMC quite a bit so check it out if you can. And i liked H2O.

I was praying Zombie would cast Samuel L Jackson as Dr. Loomis, since Samuel L. is basically the Pleasance of this generation. Lance Henrikson would have also been a cool choice. I like Malcom though.

on the subject of Halloween, according to Rob Zombie's myspace:
Former WCW wrestler Tyler Mane has been hired to portray horror movie icon Michael Myers for Rob Zombie’s direct re-make of the original Halloween film. Mane appeared in the early 90s under the name Nitron and Big Sky. He also played the role of Sabretooth in the first X-Men film. The new Halloween film is scheduled for release on August 31, 2007.
does the casting of the man behind the mask really mean that much. as long as he has an imposing figure and is directed well you can't go wrong.

b-d Tuesday, January 9, 2007 Get more Halloween (Rob Zombie's) news
Today Rob Zombie officially confirmed Danielle Harris' role in his remake of Halloween for Dimension Films, but what role will she play... and more importantly, will we see her naked? Read on to find out! After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.
I think it's awesome that Scion gets involved in the: Gaming community Music scene Art world
Rob Zombie reveals on his official HALLOWEEN MySpace Blog that Danielle Harris will be returning to the franchise as a "grown-up" new character, Annie Brackett. Danielle Harris played Jamie Lloyd Carruthers is HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS and HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS.
From the official casting breakdown we posted here: "[ANNIE BRACKETT] Emancipated or legal 18 to play 18, Caucasian, female. PARTIAL NUDITY REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE. She is LAURIE'S best friend, cute, and curly-haired, full of teen enthusiasm and charm. Borderline bad girl (she rebels, but in a sweet way)."
So there you have it, Danielle Harris, partially nude... bust out the party favors! [Note: things could change by the time filming begins]
Hated, fucking hated that little girl, wanted to see Myers kill her so fucking badly it's not even funny. But as seen on my Halloween 25 years of terror dvd, she is fucking hott nowadays. Alan Rickman has finally officially signed on for Tim Burton's ensemble musical Sweeney Todd, a DreamWorks Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures co-production, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen already have boarded the project, based on the macabre Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical. Rickman, no stranger to the stage, has been nominated for two Tonys and is a U.K. theater veteran. He will play Judge Turpin in the film, scheduled to begin production next month in London. The film centers on Benjamin Barker (Depp), a man unjustly imprisoned by a lecherous judge (Rickman). Barker returns as barber Sweeney Todd and exacts revenge. John Logan penned the big-screen adaptation. Rickman, whose credits include "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" and the "Harry Potter" films, recently wrapped "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."Great cast, great story, Burton is the man. Saturday, January 6, 2007 Get more Halloween (Rob Zombie's) news
Yup, you guessed it, we've got even more casting news for Rob Zombie's Halloween (more here), but thankfully Rob's making his final "big" announcement early next week. Soon we'll be finished talking about the who's who and talking about what's going on next. But here's the score for you uber-fans out there before we break some big news: Tyler Mane, Malcolm McDowell, Daeg Faerch, Heather Bowen, Pat Skipper, Dee Wallace Stone, Sheri Moon Zombie and William Forsythe. Who's next? Read on and see!
Here's the skinny folks, Bloody-Disgusting has learned via a few various scoopers that Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead, The Devil's Rejects) will have a role in Rob Zombie's Halloween remake. He will play Big Joe Grizzley, a truck driver who encounters Michael on his travels.
The casting is incredible thus far and I have to say I am extremely impressed, if the script is as good as they say I'm thinking Dimension Films might have another winner on their hands.
Zombie's vision of this film is an entirely new take on the legend and will satisfy fans of the classic "Halloween" legacy while beginning a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga. "This is a bit of a prequel and a remake, combined," says Zombie
OMFG this is a geekgasm if i've ever had one. In case you missed the news when we posted it way back when, Song Kang-ho (The Host) will star in Park Chan-wook's next horror film, Evil Live, which is also going into production under the name "Bats". KFC Cinema discovered this morning that Kang-ho will be playing a priest who has been infected. During an interview with Chan-wook late year, he tells B-D, "Evil Live will be about the question of the existence of God and Evil… I'm not so interested in the vampire genre per se, more in the religious theme." Park Chan-wook is best know for his "Sympathy" trilogy: Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Lady Vengenace.
Possibly the best filmmaker working today, can't wait. Darren Lynn Bousman (“Saw 2”, “Saw 3”) has opted out of “Saw 4” (David Hacki will direct instead, says the site) to do “Scanners” V2.0 instead.
I didn't mind Saw 2, but come on why remake Scanners?

A double dose of quick production news from Lionsgate starting with Ti West's (The Roost, Trigger Man) follow-up to Eli Roth's box office hit Cabin Fever. The film, which was originally slated to begin shooting later this month, has been given the title Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. Whether or not the title will stick is yet to be seen. In addition, Lionsgate is finally prepping to shoot the remake of The Eye, which has Jessica Alba attached to star in the David Moreau and Xavier Palud (ILS) directed pic. In the film a blind girl gets a cornea transplant so that she would be able to see again. However, she got more than what she bargained for when she realized she could even see ghosts. And some of these ghosts are down right unfriendly. So she embarks on a journey to find the origins of her cornea and to reveal the history of the previous dead owner.
I'll rent a STV Cabin Fever sequel
was announced today that MGM is remaking the '80s horror comedy Hotel Hell and aiming to get it in theaters by December 7th, 2007. In the original Farmer Vincent kidnaps unsuspecting travellers and is burying them in his garden. Unfortunately for his victims, they are not dead. He feeds his victims to prepare them for his roadside stand. His motto is: It takes all kinds of critters...to make Farmer Vincents fritters. The movie is gory, but is also a parody of slasher movies like Last House on the Left.
Now that's a shame Motel Hell is a fun as hell to watch late night film.
If you click here you can check out the first ever footage from Dario Argento's "Third Mother" film, The Mother of Tears, which stars Asia Argento, Daria Nicolodi, Udo Kier, Massimo Sarchielli and Philippe Leroy. The film is part three of the "Three Mothers" trilogy (Suspiria, Inferno), which takes place in Rome and has to do with Mater Lachrymarum. More news as it comes in.
Cool, since MOH i want to see a nice Dario film.

Monday, January 15, 2007 Get more The Lost Boys 2 (V) news
IESB scored some news this evening that Warner Home Video has slated The Lost Boys 2 for production in 2007. We are able to 100% confirm his scoop because one of our good friends has actually gone in with the possibility of directing the long delayed sequel. Read on for the news on who mgiht return, what the film could be about and more.
Before we dive into IESB's scoop, we can confirm to you guys that Warner Home Video has been in deep discussion with a few directors and are in fact looking to push this project forward. The only problem is there is no script yet, just an idea. The idea is exactly as was reported: "The story will revolve around surfing vampires in Southern California."
The website also mentions "that executive producer Richard Donner talked about doing a sequel that would show Edgar and Alan Frog A.K.A. The Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander in the original film) starting a vampire hunting business that would take them to Washington D.C." We have also confirmed that Feldman has been approached for the sequel, and that there's a good chance he'll return. Think they might run with this subplot?
We'll keep you posted on our end and if our buddy is chosen you'll hear about it here first. Watch for more details as they come in.
The original The Lost Boys film was released in 1987 and is about a group of kids from Santa Clara (Santa Cruz-like town), CA. who must fight a gang of motorcycle riding teenage vampires. It starred Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Barnard Hughes, and was directed by Joel Schumacher.
I'd see it in theatres had it got a theatrical release , but with STV idk if i wanna see it or not.
Sunday, January 14, 2007 Get more Kevin Smith Horror Film news
Kevin Smith's films are a legend in the industry, with his own fan base that rivals that of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, so with the announcement of his untitled horror project, millions of fanboys simply lost it. Some loved the idea, the others condemned it to hell, but what else can you expect from fans (look at Rob Zombie’s Halloween)? Point is, the mouthy director has been quoted as "disliking" the horror genre (on Project Greenlight), so what will he bring to the table that’s different from the genre he doesn’t even appreciate? As a matter of fact, will he even have the galls to do it? Read on for the latest on the project, which is sure to create plenty of controversy once it gets rolling.
From an interview over at Comingsoon.net:
"Smith added that he hasn't started writing his horror movie yet. "Horror flick is all up here (points to brain); I just have to put it down here (pretends to type). I've just been using acting as an excuse to not sit down and not write. For me, I don't know; it's kind of coming down to me wanting to do this comedy and me wanting to do this horror flick. And I feel like I should do the horror flick because I've done seven comedies in 12 years, and I don't feel like a filmmaker most days; I just feel like a guy who makes those movies set in that universe. So if I really want to test myself or push myself, I'd try and make something completely out of my safety zone, completely out of my genre – that said, I've never tested myself, so why would I start now."
I'm still weary on this, i think he could do it but as i've stated in the past ans as read above about his disliek of horror so idk.

“THE FEARMAKERS COLLECTION”
Three-Disc, 10 Episode Set Available From Elite Entertainment May 8th for $29.98
Scarborough, ME – They are considered the true masters of horror, with directing careers that span nearly a century. From “Dracula” to “Cat People,” “The House on Haunted Hill” to “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” these illustrious luminaries literally created a film genre. Their fascinating careers and iconic films are showcased in “The Fearmakers Collection,” a three-disc, 10 episode series highlighting some of the world’s greatest makers of classic horror and suspense films. The set will be available from Elite Entertainment on May 8th at a suggested retail price of $29.98.
“Never before have horror fans had the opportunity to hear stories of the horror genre’s greatest directors, all in one complete DVD set,” said Vini Bancalari, President, Elite Entertainment. “From interviews with some of the directors themselves, to the talent featured both in front of and behind the camera, and those that were inspired by these filmmaking giants, ‘The Fearmakers Collection’ will undoubtedly become a mainstay of any horror film collection.”
Each disc in “The Fearmakers Collection” set highlights an array of interviews with directors, producers, actors, writers and critics that have made their mark in the horror and suspense film field. The half hour episodes feature the careers of:
Jack Arnold—Known for his exotic settings and master of the 3-D shock effect, Arnold’s resume includes such classics as “It Came From Outer Space,” “The Creature from the Black Lagoon” and “The Incredible Shrinking Man.” Tod Browning—Renowned as the director of the original “Dracula” (1931), Browning also made his mark in the horror world with “Freaks,” “Mark of the Vampire” and “London After Midnight.” William Castle—The master of the promotional “gimmick” (such as attaching vibrating devices to theater seats), Castle directed such popular ‘50s films as “The House on Haunted Hill,” “The Tingler” and “Macabre.” Roger Corman—Having set a record for the shortest amount of time to shoot a professional feature film (two days, one night to film “Little Shop of Horrors,” which featured a young, unknown Jack Nicholson) Corman went on to have an illustrious career with such films as “It Conquered The World,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Pit and the Pendulum” and “The Raven.” Terence Fisher—Fisher got his big break at the age of 52 with “The Curse of Frankenstein,” a shocker that set a new standard for modern horror films. His other works include “Horror of Dracula,” “The Hound of the Baskervilles” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” Tobe Hooper—Perhaps no modern-day director is more associated with one film than Tobe Hooper and the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Roman Polanski—Considered a cinematic master of many film genres, Polanski set a high-water mark with his riveting work directing “Rosemary’s Baby.” His other notable horror-themed projects include “Repulsion,” “The Tenant” and the horror/vampire spoof “The Fearless Vampire Killers.” Jacques Tourneur—French filmmaker Tourneur got his big break in 1942, when noted producer Val Lewton started up the new horror unit of RKO and assigned Tourneur to direct its first picture, “Cat People.” Other works include “I Walked with a Zombie,” “The Leopard Man” and “Curse of the Demon.” Roland West—Though his directing career was short lived, West was known for such atmospheric, moody horror films as “The Bat,” “The Bat Whispers” and “The Monster” and remains even better known for a real life murder case in which he was a suspect! Robert Wise—While he’s best known for directing such movie musical classics as “West Side Story” and “The Sound of Music,” Wise is immortal to horror fans as the architect of such genre classics as “Curse of the Cat People,” “The Body Snatcher” and “The Haunting.”
Each episode of “The Fearmakers” also features interviews with a variety of talent connected with these movie masters and the horror film world, including: John Agar, Samuel Z. Arkoff, Dario Argento, John Carpenter, Jeffrey Combs, Joe Dante, Stuart Gordon, Richard Matheson and David J. Skal.
The DVD set is based on the popular book “The Fearmakers,” by John McCarty, who is co-producer, co-director, co-writer, co-editor and narrator of the series. The book profiles about 20 classic horror and suspense film directors (including the 10 featured in the DVD collection).
John McCarty is the author of more than 20 non-fiction books on the film and entertainment industry, including his most recent title, Bullets Over Hollywood: The American Gangster Picture from the Silents to The Sopranos (Da Capo Press). McCarty recently completed a documentary about the late Oscar-winning filmmaker and AFI Life Achievement Award winner Robert Wise, whom McCarty interviewed in 1996.
Elite Entertainment was founded in 1993. The company is currently one of the leaders in the restoration and distribution of horror, science fiction and cult DVD titles, including “Night of the Living Dead,” “Evil Dead,” “Tower of Evil” and “I Spit On Your Grave.” Other titles include the cult favorite “Horror;” a triple feature on the Masterworks of the German Horror Cinema, including the original silent films “Nosferatu,” “Der Golem” and “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari;” the “Drive-In Discs?” series, and the popular Millennium Edition series, including “Night of the Living Dead,” “Re-Animator” and “I Spit On Your Grave.” Visit www.elitedisc.com.

Monday, February 19, 2007 Get more Saw 4 (Saw IV) news
Ready for the shocker? Dying to know who will be directing Lionsgate's Saw 4? The Hollywood Reporter confirmed reports early this morning that Darren Lynn Bousman will helm the fourth installment in the popular franchise, which features a killer by the name of Jigsaw who tortures his victims to help them appreciate the life they took for granted. Bousman previously directed Saw II and Saw III for Lionsgate and is also in pre-production on his third feature film, Repo! A Genetic Opera. Read on for the official news!
Where does Scion celebrate Halloween? New York City San Francisco Orange County Darren Lynn Bousman is set to direct "Saw IV." The director, who helmed the last two installments in the horror franchise, "Saw II" and "Saw III," will begin production in Toronto April 16, Lionsgate and its production partner Twisted Pictures announced Monday, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Also reuniting on the project is the "Saw" production team, with Twisted's Mark Burg and Oren Koules producing and Daniel Jason Heffner, James Wan, Leigh Whannell and Stacey Testro executive producing.
Executive producing for Lionsgate are president of acquisitions and co-productions Peter Block and senior vp acquisitions Jason Constantine. Key contributors to the first three films returning include editor Kevin Greutert, director of photography David Armstrong and production designer David Hackl.
"Having Darren behind the camera gives 'Saw IV' a real edge, so to speak," Block said. "He has led this franchise into boxoffice history while proving himself a modern master of psychological terror."
The film is slated for worldwide release on Oct. 26. The "Saw" series has thus far grossed more than $400 million worldwide.
"It's not often that a filmmaker is given the opportunity to follow a genuinely compelling character through two films, much less three," Bousman said. "So I'm very excited about picking up the reins on 'Saw IV,' and delving even deeper into the Jigsaw legend."
Following "Saw IV," Lionsgate, Twisted Pictures and Bousman will reunite for "Repo! The Genetic Opera," a horror opera Bousman will direct from an original story by co-composers and screenwriters Terrence Zdunich and Darren Smith.
Months back Bousman, Wan & Whannell claimed no involvement in Saw 4, but money talks. Saw 3 was plotless pretty much, rather dull & boring.
