1) Rock/HHH was better than Hart/Michaels; However, in this particular instance, I'm willing to plead objectivity.
2) @teqillin: Glad you've finally been educated on the classic that is Warrior/Savage. I knew they'd win you over.

I just watched CM Punk vs Raven inside of a cage and it was one hell of a match.

Curt Hennig Vs Bret Hart - Semi Finals King of the Ring 1993 Match -
Great match. On par, if not a little better than The Summerslam 1991 match. Hennig put on a great match, which at this point wasn't happening often since his crash.
Rating: ****3/4

Funnily enough, I think it was a little better too.
I'm now afraid my column is going to cause some bother after reading the Iron Man chat.
It was bound to happen.

I preferred the summerslam encounter; in fact I preferred it a lot more, not sure why, as the quality of both bout is pretty much on an even keel, but there was just something special about the Summserlam '91 encounter. I think I preferred the heel/face dynamic alot more then the face/face dynamic of the KOR encounter, plus the finish was bloody marvelous.
P.S. I actually moved Henning/Hart Sumerslam '91 to fifth place on my all time WWE ppv match list, that's how much enjoyment I've been getting from it of late.

Yeah, its a complete toss up either way I think.
I'm always a mark for the wrestler beating the wrestler with a great wrestling move (ie. the reversed small package) in encounters of this type that have two excellent technicians.
That was one of my wee preferences but its so close its uncanny.

Personally, I think your review was spot on. Too many restholds, questionable limb psychology, a counter productive fall count, an indifferent (at points) crowd and the constant battle of ego (potatoing, no selling and oneupmanship was occurring throughout the whole match), make the bout not as good as it should have been.

I still say Rock/HHH is better than HBK/Hart. Although instead of ****1/4 for HBK/Hart, I'd give it a ****1/2.

Yeah, I also think that, in an Iron Man match, the right decision over scoring has to contribute in a sizeable way to the rating. The 0-0 was inexplicable to me. I could maybe understand it a bit more if they'd had a few exciting Iron Mans on ppv's before and wanted to try something different, however, I just don't understand why they'd decide on a 0-0 when showcasing this type of match for the first time on the big stage.

HHH is better than everyone except Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Owen Hart, Curt Hennig and possible HBK and Ted Dibiase ;D. HHH = God. Possibly the greatest on the mic ever.

DiBiase yes, Angle hell no.
I could just put a German Suplex on a loop and have seen 75% of 90% of all Kurt matches.

Coolcool, few objections: Michaels possible?? Are you kidding me? Of the wrestlers you mentioned Michaels is the best pro wrestler of the lot. Not to mention your utter disrespect at the omission of Savage; he owns HHH in every imaginable way.
Savage>Than every God, ever.
P.S. HHH is not the greatest stick worker either, I could name 10-15 better mic workers off the top of my head.

I love Savage's promo after beating Flair at VIII. I don't have a fucking clue as to what even one of the words are that he says in it!
