For those who don't know:
MONO is when the sound of the music is equal from both speakers, so the sound is often rather 2 dimensional
STEREO is when the sound of the music is sometimes more prevalent in one speaker than the other, so it most often generates a much greater 3-dimensional sound.
Does anyone have a preference? Now, personally I'd prefer the sound to be Stereo, just because it gives the music a much greater atmosphere and a fake surround sound aspect.
But the reason I ask is that I saw a set of The Beatles albums being sold in a big £50 set, but it's basically 2 copies of 4 different albums. One of the albums in Mono, and the other is Stereo...
What's the point, though...
Does anyone have any insight into what I see as both a waste of money, and of CDs

Definitely stereo for me. I sometimes listen to just one speaker to get a unique sound to an old song. Like I was listening to one song that had just the singer on one speaker and it sounded A cappella and very cool.

The Beatles do the old Vocals in one speaker, backing in the other... But still, I don't know why you'd want to lose that in buying both Mono and Stereo versions.
