from ProWrestling.com-
Bret Hart has just completed his autobiography, which has been in the works since 1999. It is 1,026 pages long, but the editors plan on cutting it down to about 500 pages. Bret hopes to have the book released in February. Also, he doesn't have a title for the book yet.

I'm not surprised that the editors are cutting it to 500. I'm sure Pride & Prejudice is shorter that 1,026. And that was one big ass book.

I bet they leave 400 pages about Montreal in.

I bet you that it won't.

I bet you it will. I envisage something like this:
"Hart, body, soul and Montreal. My career in a nutshell/1000 self indulgent pages about how tough it was to live life as the best there is, the best there was, blah, blah, blah..."

FUCK cutting out 526 pages. That's 526 pages of genius storytelling and wrestling tales that I would literally spunk over. Fucking twat bastard publishers. Bret don't let them, make them bleed.
It's not a WWE joint book so no it won't have a title referencing to Montreal.
It will probably be:
The Best There Is, Best There Was & Best There Ever Will Be by Bret Hart
The Story of The Hitman
It may have a small little tagline like "Injuries, Tragedies & Screwjobs". Ok maybe not that depressing. Possibly something like "Hair Grease, Sexy Sunglasses and Sunny Days". That's more pleasant.
On a side note, I fucking forgot the 3 hour Raw was on last night, I'm almost in tears.

I remember reading about this in 2000 and thinking, "Wow, this Bret Hart is an egotistical twat."
Understatement or what?

Wow. 1,026 is ridiculous.
I was just reading Richard Pryor’s autobiography, which came in at less than 300 pages, and managed to cover his traumatic childhood (his family home doubled as a brothel, he was sexually abused as a child), his teenage years in the US army, his time on the road as a stand-up comedian, his years in Hollywood, his battle against drug addition, his recovery from a massive heart attack, his years battling illness, his several marriages AND features transcripts of several of his stand-up performances.
I cannot believe Bret had that much to write about.

Let's face it, the man has some scores to settle. Vince, Shawn, Flair, Bad News, Dynamite, Diana, that twat who can't get Tonya's name right... they're all gonna get it.

He might have used A6 paper and have large girly handwriting.
Seriously though he does have an awful lot to talk about in my view. He's had a 22 year wrestling career (more including his amateur days) that's seen him travel the globe; England, Scotland, Ireland, America, Canada, Alaska, India, Africa, Germany, France etc etc I don't want to sound like a Geography teacher. Different parts of his career; Stampede, UK, New-Japan, early WWF days, Hart Foundation days, Singles, Japan, late 90's, New Hart Foundation, Screwjob and Shawn, WCW, Mule Kick, Life after Mule Kick of Doom, Stroke, Recovery, Cinzia, HOF and maybe even his Pug.
He will have written a tremendous amount about Stu and I can imagine an awful lot on Owen. There is arguably nobody better to write about Owen than Bret.
With his storytelling in the ring and at the Hall of Fame, I'd bet my life that Bret could write one hell of a fucking book with all that his 49 year old life has seen. Especially growing up in that freaky Hart Family.
I doubt he'll hammer down on that many people. Shawn is a guarantee and there will definately be a few Flair and Hogan digs. The only other people I can see him taking a jab at would be possibly Hunter and a couple of his family members. It's not like they don't deserve it either.
I'm so hoping we get an explanation for that fucking rap video he was in with The Rascalz.

Pictures of Annie would be awesome too, if you're reading, Bret-meister.

As a fan of Hart the person (although a lot more closeted these days), it's pretty embarrassing to see just how wrapped up in his own self importance this guy is. I mean 1026 pages of what? The guy was a professional wrestler, for crying out loud, not some historical icon of great esteem who's every last detail is necessary in order to do the life led justice.
I'm not looking to bemoan or belittle Hart, but come now Hitman, put into genuine perspective, you're not, nor will you ever be, that relevant.

To think that I ever doubted Coolja26's constant insistence that Bret was uncondtionally beloved by his peers. Man, 1000+ pages. At least we know those 7 years spent on the book were well used.

Sometimes you guys can be completely unfair.
All it says is that in SEVEN years of prep, he wrote 1,026 pages.
How do you know how many pages any other wrestler wrote for their book before it was given the once over by the editors?
Seriously, you are actually taking this snippet of information and assessing the character of the man because he wrote lots of pages?

Yes. Futhermore, I think this proves once and for all that Bret is indeed gay.

The guy was a professional wrestler, for crying out loud, not some historical icon of great esteem who's every last detail is necessary in order to do the life led justice.
Just because he penned 1,026 pages to be made into a book, that means he is an egotistical maniac? To the general english public who love nothing more than Pints, Football, Tits, Big Brother, Nuts Magazine and Max Power he will mean nothing but he is a historical icon in the world of professional wrestling, which means more than anything to so many people all around the world. 'Embarrasing'. B.S. relevant.
So one of the most famous and legendary wrestlers of the modern generation isn't allowed to pen an extremely large autobiogprahy. I didn't know there was a set number of pages allowed for certain people. He is that relevant to some. Me included. I'd rather read a Bret Hart book than absolutely any autobiogprahy that's out on the shelf now. Katie Price, Nicole Richie, Peter Andre, Jodie Marsh, Paris Hilton etc etc? Fuck no.
