Same here, I'm also hoping they do involve the Green Lantern Corps.

Well, it was more a beard + a hook + insults like "winged tripe!" against Eddie Munster hair + sushi-flavoured edible underwear.
Also, Namor rhymes with "Lame-or".

Have either of you guys heard anything more about the proposed Watchmen movie?

A fair bit. I know that there have been film proposals since the 80s and that this decade a version directed by Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy) seemed set for a 2006 release prior to it all falling through.
The current project (vehemently opposed, like all the others, by Moore and Dave Gibbons) will see Zack Snyder (300, Dawn of The Dead) direct an adaption of Dave Hayter's oft-discussed but never released script. It'll probably be decent, but a piece of steaming shit compared to the book, which was never meant to be turned into anything.
I also have Sam Hamm's (Batman 1989) script from one of the earlier projects. It's abysmal.

Well, it was more a beard + a hook + insults like "winged tripe!" against Eddie Munster hair + sushi-flavoured edible underwear. Also, Namor rhymes with "Lame-or". You forgot a few things. Like: calling upon guppies to do the dirty work, wearing gloves to avoid wrinky fingers, and being JLA's waterboy vs. Spock ears, persistence (how long did he attempt to bang Sue Storm?), managing to keep his wings from getting matted underwaterm, and that whole rushing into battle without back-up and sometimes reason Plus, I'm fairly certain GWAR's song "Fishfuck" was written by Sub-Mariner and dedicated to Aquaman, after a long night of drinking.

I enjoyed Sub mariner when he was against the Avengers & whatnot but after that, eh he does nothing.
Aquaman hands down.
As for the Watchman, i'm looking forward to it.

From an artistic standpoint, yes. However, I really want to see this fucking film more than anything else in the world, no matter how shit it turns out. I guess I fall into a pretty broad category in that sense.
What's Sue Storm's name nowadays? Oh yeah, Sue Richards. Namor failed, and Sue ended up falling for Mr Fantastic's cock (essentially an extendable rubber dildo) over the Sub Mariner's... well, whatever he has. She probably got angry when he told her to lay her eggs for him to fertilise. In the meantime, Aquaman pulled Wonder Woman, the old pimp.

In all fairness, there's a good chance she was Sue Richards at that time too. As for Aquaman, I would have been in total agreement with bringing up the time he landed a whale on Namor, that was pretty fantastic.

Tony Stark has hired his secretary! Pepper Potts cast in IRON MAN! Ahoy, squirts! Quint here... after a long day trying to juggle my Sundance schedule (Austin iced over and shut down the airport, canceling my early morning flight tomorrow), I got a call from the good Captain. He's been spying on Iron Man. Something to do with a spat... anyway, they're fighting and his spies reported back to him just who Tony Stark's secretary is going to be.
Pepper Potts will be... Gwyneth Paltrow. So, we have Robert Downey Jr as Stark, Terrence Howard as Rhodes and now Gwyenth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.
Cap'n says this is 100% and there should be official confirmation very soon. I believe him. What do you folks think?
Sounds like an all star cast. But i'm not sure if Iron Man is a big enough of a name to be a blockbuster.

Is Jolie no longer 'The Dame to Kill For'? Posted : January 17, 2007 Writer : Clint Morris Proceed as if you're about to step into bed with a Hilton sister- in other words 'with Caution - but nonetheless, lick your lips around this one : Angelina Jolie may be out of "Sin City 2" - she was set to play 'The Dame' to Kill For - and Rachel Weisz may be in.
The gang at Cinemablend tell us that a scooper has informed them that Jolie's deal didn't work out, for some reason or another, and that director Robert Rodriguez is now making the deal with "Mummy" hottie Rachel Weisz, instead.
The film - which will bring back original stars such as Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen and Bruce Willis - is supposedly on track to start filming next year.
Sprinkle it with Salt. Ponder whether you'd like Weisz in the role, then come back shortly to see if it's been confirmed or debunked.
Thanks to 'Josh'
Weiss is improving as an actress so she might be alright in the role, but Jolie i could have seen real well.

Crap. If you've read "A Dame to Kill For" you'd know Jolie would have been perfect.
I wonder what other stories they're doing. I'm hoping "Hell and Back". That would be something if they could pull that off visually.

Fucking A it is, i'm a huge Downey Jr fan Koepp doing Spider-Man 4 Posted : January 22, 2007 Writer : Clint Morris Unsurprisingly, Sony has decided to make a “Spider-Man 4” – despite the fact that original director Sam Raimi and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have no plans in returning.
"Indiana Jones 4" scribe David Koepp (whoalso did a 'little bit' of writing on the first "Spider-Man" film) tells ComingSoon.net that the studio is so ecstatic with “Spider-Man 3” – a rough cut was recently previewed to the employees of the Culver City compound – that they’ve asked him to write a fourth one.
It’ll be an interesting situation, won’t it?.
With Magurie pretty much out of contract and planning to leave the tights behind, Sony may have to find another young chap to don the crimson and webby outfit. A couple of years back, Jake Gullenhaal was rumoured to be in talks for the role – this was when Maguire was playing hardball, so they threatened him by finding a replacement – and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he’s the man they go to to take over the role after Maguire shoots his last bit of pasty goo.
Dunst will not be returning; but no big sweat, her character isn’t supposed to be involved in the next chapter anyway – so no need to find a look-alike. Instead, Bryce Dallas Howard’s Gwen Stacey – making her debut in “Spider-Man 3” - is rumoured to be filling the void of love interest for the next chapter.
As for director Sam Raimi? He’ll likely be retained in some capacity – probably produce the film; I'm guessing – but as far as I can gather, the man is ready to move beyond the world of the Daily Bugle.
Well who didn't see that one coming. The only Koepp written film i actualy like is JP2 & Spider Man. The Shadow is not theat great, funny thing is that Raimi is now helming the new Shadow flick, so we'll see how that goes. Anyone wanna throw out names to direct the next Spider Man film? Joss Whedon & David S. Goyercome to mind but are already tied up. It'd be nice to see Scott Spiegel do it, Sam's old buddy. Now Blondie & I may be the only ones to have seen a Spiegel film but he's got a good style. IDK if he could do a blockbuster though.

Blade star meets for Wonder Woman Posted : January 22, 2007 Writer : Clint Morris Well, it is another “Wonder Woman” casting rumour – but at least this one sounds like it’s got some meat to accompany the potatoes.
Jill Wagner, formerly of the short-lived “Blade: The Series”, stopped by FlickDirect to talk up her future plans, and mentioned that she’s actually met – yeah, ‘met’ is one better than ‘stalked casting director’ or ‘have emailed Joss Whedon via his MySpace’ – for “Wonder Woman”.
“I met with the guys over at Silver pictures about some things and Wonder Woman was one of them”, said Wagner, referring, of course, to meeting Producer Joel Silver at the Warner lot.
Another young spunk that supposedly met about the role was “One Tree Hill” star Sophia Bush, so you can see what kind of age and look they’re going for here. It goes without saying that Silver’s initial choice for the role, Kim Basinger (I kid you not! – dude must have been smoking a crack pipe with the Malpaso gang that day), is now clearly out of the running.
Not too bad Nor is that.

Katie Holmes' character recast for Batman sequel Posted : January 26, 2007 Writer : Clint Morris This is going to spark a few Mailbag contributions.
According to Latino Review – and they do seem to have some solid contacts at Warner Bros; remember who scooped the web on Brandon Routh playing Superman? – Katie Holmes will not be back in “The Dark Knight”, despite the fact that her character, Rachel Dawes, will appear in the film.
I assume Holmes has opted not to reprise the role – or the producers have opted to save money and recast another actress – because the part she’ll play in the sequel is super-small. I’m talking ten-minutes or less. She’ll still be a pivotal part in the movie, but, well, let’s just say that it doesn’t much matter who plays her. It’ll only really affect the film’s accountant… who’ll probably have a few bucks left on the table because he hasn’t hired Holmes. I liked Holmes in "Batman Begins", I thought she fit the bill. I think It'll be a minor injury to the film having a different actress play the part. Pity.
So yep, they’re looking for another young brunette to play Dawes in the film.
The site also reports that producers still haven’t found their Harvey Dent. Apparently Matt Damon was made an offer – but passed. Still in the mix are Josh Lucas, Jamie Foxx and Edward Norton.
And who’ll be playing Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin? Well… nobody. The site has confirmed the character is no longer part of the movie – if he indeed ever was.
New roles being cast in the film include Eastern European Heavy - tough bad guy mobster, 40s-50s, Female Cop - Latin, 30s. 'Elizabeth Pena' type, and an Asian Accountant - male, 40s.
LOL, i'm not a fan of recasting, but YES, i'm not a Holmes fan at all, so i'm glad she's out. IMO she was the only down part of Batman Begins.

Thank You For Cloaking Date : February 2, 2007 Posted By : Clint Morris The “Batman” movie rumour mill is still in business – and it ain’t closing until the day Warner Bros releases that final cast list to the media.
Latest whisper, via our friends at Latino Review, is that Aaron Eckhart is the current frontrunner to play Harvey Dent/Two Face in “The Dark Knight”.
Should there be anything in this, Eckhart ("The Black Dahlia") will have to sign up for two films. It’s believed he’ll be Dent in the new film, but in the sequel to follow, he’ll transform into his villainous alter ego, Two-Face.
As previously mentioned, Matt Damon was offered the role, but knocked it back – so who knows where Eckhart sits on the list (He’s good, but I can’t imagine him being top of the wish list).
(The site also mentions that Maggie Gyllenhaal’s name has come up as a possible replacement for Katie Holmes, as Rachel Dawes, in the film).
You know what i can actualy see this, the dude is a good actor plus has the look, plus it fits in the mold of Batman Begins casting, by which i mean stars who aren't particularly big box office attractions. I dig this.
Hulk 2 nemesis revealed Date : February 2, 2007 Posted By : Clint Morris The always-amiable Louis Leterrier dropped by the Superhero Hype! Boards to update fans on how his film version (what? There was another one? Really? Hmm) of “The Hulk” is coming along. Greenly, it seems. (And hopefully without a script full of psychological junk and wearisome split-screen sequences.)
The main question on every fan boys motherboard is, ‘Who will be playing The Hulk?’ and though the director didn’t name names, he did say that “We're very close to casting Bruce Banner”, and that “The rest of the cast will follow.”
From that, I’m guessing that Eric Bana has indeed not agreed to return. Not that I thought he would. This is a re-start, of sorts, after all – so I’m sure Leterrier is trying to distance himself from that film as much as possible. And that begins with a new Bruce Banner. The director has said a couple of times now that the film will “not be a sequel”, so that says it all. New Bruce.
And though its unlikely (as per previous) that Sam Elliot will return to reprise the role (from that, um, other “Hulk” movie), the character of General Ross will be back.
The director confirmed that “Thunderbolt” Ross will be the “main villain” and “Emil Blonsky isn't far behind...”
Hmm. Nice. A “Hulk” film that has its roots in a comic? Different.
No idea who they have in mind for Ross, but based on what he looks like in the comics, they’d be pretty silly to look past say, Muse Watson, or even, Jon Voight. Both of those guys, especially Watson (with that accent and that larger than life presence that we saw in the “Last Summer” movies), would be slicker than Armani. Hopefully someone will pass that onto the powers that be, before Tony Danza snags the spot.
Oh, and Emil Blonsky? For the comic illiterate – like me – that’s the guy better known as ‘The Abomination’. He’s one of the Hulk’s long-time foes.
Here’s hoping Lou Ferrigno gets a cameo – sad to see the guy having to spend each Summer in San Diego selling pictures of himself so he can keep the refrigerator stocked with protein shakes.
Thanks to ‘Advanced Dark’
Hulk's not my favourite comic charecter but i am looking forward to the new film just cause i truly dispised the 2003 piece of shit.
