Yeah, I wish they had explained that as he was supposed to be a TV Show host. There's an article on the wall behind Brodie in his scene and it explains that he left his Late Night talk show job to return home and open his own comic book store. I believe the article can be found somehwere on viewaskew.com.

To me, the best "geek out" moments in film recently have been in comedies.
Like 100 scenes in 40 Year Old made me cry with laughter, like the "you know how I know you're gay" bits and the Michael MacDonald thing was brilliant, but my favourite moment was when Cal is talking about Dave's porno collection, he looks at Andy and says something like, "Hey, you know that glow in the dark light they use to check for fluids in hotel rooms and shit...well they can see that box from SPACE" I died and kill myself watching that.
But also in the Wedding Crashers, the Vince Vaughn quote that "she just eyefucked the shit outta me" I use that every weekend now, GLORIOUS!!!!

And then later, Luke wilson gets his other arm bitten off by a bear. That was great but nothing can touch Steve Carell throwing the trident, that was too good for words.

Aragorn going phycho on that orc at the end of The Fellowship of the Ring. 4. Urak-Hai war cry in The Two Towers. 5. The whole fucking Minas Tirth battle scene in Return of the King. 6. Whenever Wolverine would stab someone in X-Men or X-Men 2. 7. Collusus' cameo in X-men 2. 8. When Dwight (Clive Owen) said "There's nothing like having your friends show up with lots of guns." in Sin City and shoot the mobsters to shit. 9. Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro) back firing his pistol in Sin City. 10. Marv (Micky Rourk) shooting the Priest and saying "Worth dying for, worth killing for and worth going to hell for. Amen" in Sin City. 11. Just about anything in Sin City. 12. Bruce Willis killing John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. 13. Bruce Willis coming to kill the two rapist hillbillies and Ving Rhames saying "I'm medieval you ass!" in Pulp Fiction. 14. The "I just shot Marvin in the face!" scene in Pulp Fiction. 15. The "What historic figure would you fight?" scene in Fight Club. 16. Kevin Spacey saying "The greatest trick The Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." in The Usual Suspects. 17. The ending in The Usual Suspects. 18. "Ok, You're probably gonna have lay low for a while as the cops might be looking for you for first degree murder"(or something like that, been a while since I seen it.) Hartigan pulling out his gun while recovering from his angina attack in Sin City.(made me geek out) Watching Hyde and super Dante fight it out in the league of extraordinary gentlemen. Listening to Bo duke say "She pulled a goddang Keyser soze on me and like that(blows and opens his hand) she was gone" in the dukes of hazzard.

"Aw, man...I just shot Marvin in the face."
Oh my God, man...you have no iea just how much that get's to me. The way Travolta actually says the line (I guess that would be more along the lines of pronunciation, but whatever) is just priceless...not to mention the fact that it appears as though he doesn't give a flying fuck, either way!
