I think he should retire cuz homey is almost in his 40's(but then again ol' Ric Flair is almost 60 with brittle bones and all still wrestling lol!) and he accomplished alot so IMO I think he had a good run with the WWE and should call it quits. ya'll think he should stay or retire if given a choice.

I'm thinking that this could be his last Wrestlemania this year.

Yeah make this his last WM.... Make sure he wins aswell then he can go out with a bang, Id like him to have another run as champion but i dont think that is going to happen anytime soon which sucks.

Taker should've been gone since last year. The character is stale and his matches are incredibly boring. The guy is just a waste of space. Smackdown can survive without him.
It's sad how incredibly lame and watered down the character has become. Words cannot begin to describe how dissapointed i was when he returned at WMXX in a leather, cowboy trenchcoat sporting the same ring gear he wore as the biker character. He didn't even really move like the deadman. All of his deadman mannerisms were half-assed.

While SmackDown! need stars I think they should keep him. The best idea would be for him to retire once the brands get put back together. Seeing as we don't know when that would be I think he should retire by next year. I'm pretty pissed at him because his ego has affected Matt Hardy's push.

Smackdown!'s short of big names. So Taker needs to stay for a while until WWE makes stars out of the current roster. Course, Taker never stays for more than 3 months anymore so there may actually be no point in keeping him around.

I agree.
I don't particularly like Undertaker, and I never have, but even though he's not a patch on his former self (which was hardly anything to write home about, even back in the day) he's still one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE.
Right now SmackDown! is in something of a slump. Eddie Guerrero's death, followed by Batista's injury and you can even add Christian's departure, have all left SmackDown! looking somewhat empty. The last thing they need is to lose another star. Arguably the three most loved guys on the show were/are Eddie, Big Dave and 'Taker and losing all three of them isn't going to do anything for business. IMO.
As long as he is happy, and able, to work for the company then I see no reason to push him to retire. Keep him until the brands come together again and people exist to fill the void.

He might stay until 2007 from what i read, so expect him to stay for a while.
but i think he does need to retire. He's in his 40's and his body is getting beat up. so yeah, he might retire soon

I say if you're gonna need constant breaks and just show up at odd stretches during the show, then you need to go. He should bow out at Wrestlemania with class.

Seriously, I respect him but he should be looking to get out sometime soon so that he doesn't become on Hogan's level.

First of all why does everyone diss Orange Goblin, he just wants his moments in the sun. He just hasn't realized his sun set a LOOONG time ago. Secondly, I personally would like to see Taker have one last run with the title before he's done.

Retire - we never see much of him anyways, so not going to miss him...His gimmick makes me cringe, an embarrassment cringe..Ortons dad with blood over his face, Josh Matthews' making out he was possessed by Taker...its these moments (like the warrior appearing in the mirror back in WCW) that just make me swear at the tv...though i like The Undertaker as the American Bad ass.

Was that really takers fault though? I reckon it was the soap opera writers making up all that B-movie cheesy shit just to try and think of something new for him to do instead of the usual lights out... stare down... run away thing. The feud was getting stale anyway and at least that made people care for it a little more. I've always been an Undertaker fan and you can't say you didn't look forward to his WMXX comeback. I reckon with Angle as champ now (who has said he wanted to face taker at WM for a number of years now), maybe Angle can face him at Mania and let Taker have one more run (face it he wouldn't lose his streak at Mania... Orton had the perfect opportunity to). And then after his last title reign he can retire...

He should retire soon but not yet. He needs a good feud and to touch up his gimmick first. I don't want to remember him for this last feud. Maybe end it on a feud with Kane or Mankind, something memorable.

Retire. I've always thought of Taker as a bad talent. He was only good in 1996-1998, and that was because of the Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Mankind carry jobs. The only purpose he serves in the WWE now is jobbing and putting people over. If Orton doesn't get a title shot at Wrestlemania, or if he gets a Title Shot against Taker(assuming he's champ by Wrestlemania), Orton should win and end Takers career.

Retire? Ha, he's already retired. You can try to argue that all you want, but it's pretty much true. He's just not officially retired from the WWE.

Taker's return at WMXX was one of the most memorable entrances in history, but I was PISSED when he still had the biker clothing and that stupid coat. Then, throughout 2004, all we got was the lights going out and most of those times Taker didn't even appear! In 2005 at least we got a few staredowns, but it was still crap! Taker's gimmick now, as said earlier, has become watered down and boring and it's a crime to see the deadman gimmick this way compared to what it was in it's hay day. But hey..... it's still better than the Boogeyman so for that reason alone I say he should stay a little while longer.

But then again, Taker is only 4 months older than Shawn Michaels. It really shows how you go about things, and if he (Taker) can still wrestler then let him wrestle.

I think the Undertaker is great, but hes having too many comebacks, hes needs to pack it in, hes been almost constantly wrestling since 1990, a shame that hes only became champion 4 times though.
