Fifth Level of Hell
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The river Styx runs through this level of Hell, and in it are punished the wrathful and the gloomy. The former are forever lashing out at each other in anger, furious and naked, tearing each other piecemeal with their teeth. The latter are gurgling in the black mud, slothful and sullen, withdrawn from the world. Their lamentations bubble to the surface as they try to repeat a doleful hymn, though with unbroken words they cannot say it. Because you lived a cruel, vindictive and hateful life, you meet your fate in the Styx.

I’m sure we’ve been over this one before, Cowards. The puppy had been hit by a car, was laying in the road, in the countryside, most likely have escaped from the back garden in one of the houses nearby (the houses weren’t actually all that nearby, but it had got quite far before being hit) and although it was breathing, it was barely alive. My ex-girlfriend trained as a vet, so it wasn’t hard for me to figure out that it was going to be put down in such a condition. It was just a question of putting it out of its misery, rather than try and locate a vet in the middle of nowhere and leave it to suffer for hours.
