Steve Shamrock in the early 1990’s was working in a wrestling school in his local in Wales, England. By 1994 Steve had got himself over as a wrestler and left for America in 1995. By mid-1995 Steve had done trials for many wrestling company’s but not picked up by any until at one session Ted Turner who was on a rare visit out of runing WCW spotted Steve. From late 1995 till 1997 Steve was in the WCW Power Plant.
WCW
At the beginning of 1997 Eric Bischoff and Ted Turner both agreed that Steve should be given a place in WCW. Steve’s first match was a dark match against another unknown star, Steve lost the match but was soon put on to WCW Nitro. Eric come up with the idea of Steve joining the heel group NWO, Steve wasn’t to sure with the idea but went along with it until 1998 when Steve Shamrock told WCW management he wasn’t going to go along with the storyline and wanted to be a singles star. In late 1998 Steve Shamrock had his final match in WCW against Hulk Hogan, Hogan walked away with the victory after Shamrock who was meant to lose via pin fall left the match half way through.
ECW
Paul Heyman then boss of ECW contacted Steve soon after leaving WCW to join ECW. Steve went to a ECW show and wanted in. A week in to signing Steve walked out of a show as ECW TV Champion after beating then champion Tazz in a extreme rules match. A month later according to reports Steve and a few ECW stars had fallen out this lead to Steve losing the title to Raven in a cage and leaving ECW still with a few months left on his contract.
NJPW & WWF(E)
In 2000 Steve was asked by NJPW to sign a ten match deal with them and a choice to carry on working after, Steve looking for a job accepted winning seven of the ten match’s, once the deal was done Steve moved back to America signing for WWE. He joined as a monster taking out the champions. After 3 months of not being beaten in any type of match Steve got a shot at the European title. He walked away with the title but lost a quick three months later to Christian. After the loss WWE had no idea for a story as the monster idea was destroyed when Christian beat Steve, he was put on Sunday Night Heat beating Val Venis week in, week out until WWE come up with a idea for Steve. The idea was put forward to both Steve and Vince, Steve accepted the idea just to get back on TV but Vince didn’t want it and told Steve he would stay on Heat, this lead to Steve asking for a realise from his contract. Steve got his wish and went and worked in different company’s making quest appearances until CCW got in contact with Steve about signing to RMW.
RMW
Steve Shamrock signed for RMW and started of with a big man gimmic which turned in to the making of Damage Inc. with mate Scott McMahon and now friend Pat Hollywood.
After a couple of month Vince McMahon after bringing back ECW offered Steve the chance to return, Steve accepted until RMW put an offer forward to Steve which made him think again and stay with RMW winning the RMW Tag Team Championship along with partner Pat Hollywood later after chosing to stay. Steve and Pat later lost the tag team titles to KC.
