CCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - FATAL FOUR-WAY ELIMINATION MATCH: PART II
THRE… NO!
The crowd explodes into cheer as Hill raises his shoulder at the last moment. Leonard turns to the referee, accusing him of a slow-count, to no avail, whilst Hill rolls out of the ring.
Leonard attempts to pursue, reaching over the top rope, before receiving a clubbing blow to the back from Violence, and another, before Violence hoists Leonard onto his shoulders, in place for a torture rack, before dropping Leonard across his knee with a backbreaker!
A cover from Violence…
ONE!
TWO!!
SHOULDER UP!
Wasting little time, Violence brings Leonard back to his feet, placing his head under Leonard’s arm and charging him back-first into the corner turnbuckle, before repeatedly driving his head into Leonard’s midsection. He steps back, leaving Leonard slumped in position.
Violence steps back, before charging forward with the Body Avalanche. Leonard steps aside sending Violence into the turnbuckle! As Violence staggers out of the corner, Leonard lands a stinging chop to the chest of the champion, who reels backs, then slaps his own chest, as if to demand a second. Leonard duly obliges, landing a second, stiffer chop!
Ross: Good Lord, they can probably hear that in the rafters!
Leonard immediately follows up with a third, a fourth and a fifth, followed by three in quick succession, taking Violence to the ropes in the process. With the champion seemingly reeling, Leonard bounces off the ropes, rebounding with a flying crossbody… Only to be caught in mid-air!
Heyman: Oh no!
With a gasp, Violence hoists Leonard onto his shoulders! He secures Leonard in place, as Hill slides back into the ring, much to the delight of the crowd, and immediately goes after Violence, only to be met by a boot to the jaw that knocks him of his feet! Seconds later, Violence drops Leonard to the canvas with a bone-crushing Samoan drop, followed by a cover…
ONE!
TWO!!
NO!!!
Leonard drapes his foot over the bottom rope, much to the displeasure of the champion, who gets to his feet and confronts the official. The referee remains defiant, frustrating the champion into raising his fist. The fearful referee immediately jumps back, and almost out of the ring!
Ross: The champion really needs to keep his sights set on the task at hand…
Violence turns back to where Leonard is on his knees, crawling towards the ropes. Hill is barely stirring in the centre of the ring. Violence stamps on the back of Leonard, forcing him back to the canvas, before repeatedly driving his boot into the back and head, forcing Leonard out of the ring.
Violence then turns his attention to Hill, reaching down for a handful of hair, and bringing Hill to his feet. Violence slaps Hill across the face in a disrespectful manner, drawing a chorus of boos from the crowd, before Hill responds with a European Uppercut, drawing a cheer, and causing Violence’s head to jolt back!
Hill is unable to take advantage, as Violence immediately responds with a knee to the midsection, followed by a clubbing blow to the back, before he attempts to run Hill into the turnbuckle. Hill reacts quickly, raising his foot to the middle turnbuckle, and preventing the collision, before swinging his elbow back into Violence’s face.
Violence steps back, momentarily stunned, allowing Hill to take advantage of the situation. Hill charges out of the corner, straight into a overhead belly-to-belly suplex that sends him through the air and crashing to the canvas!
Ross: By God! Paul Hill might be out cold!
Violence raises his arms in the air in his messiah-like pose, absorbing the overwhelming chorus of boos from the eighty-thousand capacity crowd and turning to face each section of the crowd, revelling in the jeers. Violence turns to admire his handiwork…
Ross: Richards!
Only to receive a Gamengiri high kick to the face from Thomas Richards, dropping the champion to the canvas! The crowd go into a frenzy, whilst Richards drops to his knees momentarily, regaining his senses. A chant of “Richards, Richards!” fills the arena. Violence is quick to rise, but unsteady on his feet and swaying as he comes after Richards, who greets him with two Kesugiri chops, two Gamen kicks to the head and a second Gamengiri to complete the combination and drop Violence back to the canvas!
Bouncing off the ropes, Richards connects with a standing diving head-butt on Violence, who sits up momentarily, clutching his head, before collapsing back to the mat, before receiving a second standing headbutt from Richards!
Ross: The champion is in serious danger!
Heyman: Do something, Josh!
Richards gets to his feet in preparation to complete The Blitz, and charges the third set of ropes, only for Lance Leonard to reach into the ring from the outside and seize Richard’s leg, tripping him to the canvas, and pulling him underneath the bottom rope.
Leonard delivers a stiff kick to the midsection, quickly tucks his head under Richard’s arm!
Heyman: The Unfortunate Side Effect!
Leonard lifts and drops Richards back and shoulder onto his knee, causing Richards to gasp in pain and collapse to the floor. Wasting little time, Leonard slides into the ring, bounces off the nearby ropes, and delivers a Ric-Flair style rolling knee-drop to Josh Violence…
Leonard hooks the leg of the champion!
ONE!
TWO!!
NO!!!
Violence raises his shoulder. A visibly frustrated Leonard takes a moment to compose himself, before reaching a vertical base and making his way to the corner!
Ross: This might be unwise…
Leonard climbs the ropes, looking to deliver the Bomb Scare Knee Drop. Hill, meanwhile, begins to stir. Leonard reaches the top rope as Hill reaches his feet, initially using the top rope for balance, before coming across the ring towards Leonard, who attempts to repositions himself,
Hill charges against the ropes, causing Leonard to lose his balance and collapse onto the turnbuckle. Hill slowly begins to climb, reaching the top rope and applying a facelock to Leonard. A superplex later, and both men crash to the canvas!
The lay motionless for several moments, before Hill drapes an arm across Leonard’s chest…
ONE!
TWO!!
KICK OUT!!!
Heyman: Yes!
Both men are slow to their feet, with Hill ducking a wild punch and going behind for a bridged Dragon suplex!
ONE!
TWO!!
NO!!!
Leonard kicks out, whilst the crowd begins to chant for Hill, who meets Leonard with a kick to the midsection, followed by an attempted snap suplex. Leonard places his leg between Hill’s, blocking the move. Hill lands a jab to the midsection, momentarily giving him the upper-hand, before Leonard lands his jab, followed by a second. Leonard breaks away, applying a Muay Thai-style clinch and driving his knee into Hill’s face.
Leonard successfully delivers a snap suplex to Hill, keeping the face lock applied, rolling, and bringing Hill to his feet in preparation for a fisherman suplex!
Heyman: He’s got him!
Leonard digs down deep to deliver the fisherman suplex and slowly rolls, before bringing Hill back to his feet, looking to complete The Good, The Bad and The Ugly with the brainbuster! Josh Violence, meanwhile, begins to stir. Hill places his leg between Leonard’s, preventing the move from being delivered, before driving his elbow into the midsection, and again, and again, forcing Leonard to release his grip! Unbeknown to Hill and Leonard, Violence begins to stand!
Hill applies the face lock, and lifts Leonard, looking to deliver the brainbuster! The crowd jump to their feet, cheering wildly, but their cheers are premature, as Leonard drops behind Hill and applies a waistlock.
Hill reverses and goes behind, applying the waistlock to Leonard, ready to deliver a German suplex, when Violence applies a waistlock to Hill!
Ross: My God!
A double German suplex sends both Hill and Leonard into the air, drawing gasps from the crowd, followed by the traditional “Holy Shit” chants as the bodies of both men crash to the canvas! Violence falls to the canvas in a sitting position, unable to take advantage of the situation.
Ross: Josh Violence has taken both Lance Leonard and Paul Hill out of this match!
On the outside, Thomas Richards is on his feet, climbing onto the ring apron and clutching his injured back. Violence gets to his feet, charging across the ring, and knocking Richards from the apron and, spine first, into the barrier!
Richards gasps in pain, as Violence slides out of the ring. Richards is slumped against the barrier, and finds himself the recipient of a series of stiff kicks to the face. Violence draws Richards to his feet, and drives him backwards into the barrier with a crash!
Richards howls in pain, only preventing from dropping to the mat by Violence, who holds him in place, before hoisting Richards onto his shoulders, in place for the running powerslam!
Ross: This could prove devastating to the injured back of Thomas Richards!
Heyman: Josh Violence is a machine!
Violence holds Richards in place for a few moments, then raises his hand, pointing towards the steel ring post!
Ross: Good Lord, no!
The arena fills with boos, as Violence charges towards the ring post, on the verge of destroying the spine of Richards, only for Richards to slide off the back, and send Violence, face first, into collision with the ring post!
The crowd erupts, whilst Violence drops to his knees, clutching his face. Richards takes a moment to compose himself, before turning his attention towards the now bloodied champion!
Heyman: This is not good!
Blood trickles down Violence’s face, forming a small pool on the ground bellow. Richards seizes Violence, bringing him to his feet, and rolling him into the ring. Violence reaches his knees, crawling forward, blood dripping on the canvas, whilst Richards stands, uneasy, waiting for Violence to rise!
Slowly, the dazed champion begins to stand, immediately receiving a stiff punch in the gaping wound on his forehead, and another, and another. The champions legs begin to buckle, and he drops to one knee, before Richards steps forward, reaching his arm around the midsection…
Ross: Istazadriver!
Richards struggles to lift Violence, but is willed on by his determination to win,. He hooks his arm around one leg, before dropping to or kneeling position, driving Violence’s head into the mat!
Ross: Josh Violence must be finished!
Richards hooks the leg of the champion, whilst the crowd count along with the referee…
ONE!
TWO!!
THRE… NO!!!
Violence drops his arm across the bottom rope, much to the frustration of the crowd. Richards shakes his head, then grabs Violence’s arm, making a second pinfall attempt…
ONE!
TWO!!
THR… NO!!!
Violence drapes his foot across the bottom rope, breaking the count. A frustrated Richards looks the referee, then climbs back to his feet. Peering into the crowd, Richards signals for the Lion’s Roar!
The crowd cheer wildly, whilst Richards orders Violence to rise to his feet. The dazed champion is oblivious to Richards’ intentions, and slowly begins to pull himself up.
In the corner of the ring, just behind Richards, Leonard slowly climbs to his feet, leaning against the rope. Richards doesn’t appear to notice, instead focussed on Violence. Leonard prepares to attack Richards from behind, but Richards reacts before Leonard can strike, and both men raise their fists in a stand-off.
A few moments pass, with neither Richards nor Leonard prepared to strike first. Violence reaches his feet, and the two men break eye contact, turning to face the bloodied champion…
Ross: Could we see Richards and Leonard form a partnership here?
Richards and Leonard exchange words, before turning to face Violence. Leonard allows Richards to proceed ahead of him. A brief sinister grin forms on Leonard’s face, before he charges towards Richards with a running elbow strike from behind!
Richards reacts quickly, ducking the elbow strike and sending Leonard into collision with Violence, knocking the champion off his feet and to the canvas, before he flops to the outside…
Ross: So much for that alliance!
Leonard turns to face Richards, just in time to meet…
Ross: The Lion’s Roar!
Lion lunges forward, spinning before connecting with his forearm to Leonard’s head! Leonard collapses to the mat, whilst Richards turns his attention to Hill, who has reached his feet!
The crowd cheer wildly as the two fan favourites attempt to square off. As Richards draws close, Hill lands a stiff chop to the chest, drawing a mixed-reaction from the crowd. Richards steps back, absorbing the shot, before Hill delivers a second, before Richards lands a chop to the oesophagus, also drawing a mixed-reaction from the crowd. Hill clutches his neck, and Richards prepares to whip him across the ring!
Hill rebounds, ducking a punch from Richards, before bouncing off the opposite set of ropes. Richards lunges forward for a stiff lariat, but Hill catches the arm, swinging himself into position for a crucifix pin, only to go all the way around for…
Ross: The Jump-Swinging Bulldog!
Hill drives Richards’ face into the canvas, much to the delight of half the crowd. Richards rolls onto his back, clutching his face, whilst Hill calls for him to rise, signalling for the Running STO!
Ross: If Paul Hill hits this, Richards is done for!
Richards begins to rise, using the ropes for leverage, his back to Hill. Hill sizes Richards up, waiting for him to turn. As Richards begins to turn, Hill charges forwards, only to caught by the roaring elbow!
Ross: The Lion’s Roar! The Lion’s Roar!
Hill is knocked clean out, his lifeless body collapsing to the canvas, whilst Richards collapses on top of him for the cover…
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE!!!
Ross: Paul Hill is eliminated!
Heyman: That might be the biggest mistake Thomas Richards could make, look who he’s left with!
The referee rolls Hill to the outside, where officials are waiting. Richards pushes to his feet, gasping for air, before turning towards Lance Leonard.
The two men stagger forwards, where Leonard connects with a stiff elbow, causing Richards to slump back against the ropes, before coming forwards with his elbow. Leonard steps forwards with his second, and Richards retaliates with his.
Both men stagger back, physically exhausted. Pausing for several moments, before coming together in a collar and elbow tie-up. Neither man is able to gain the advantage, before breaking away.
The crowd chant of “Richards! Richards!” fills the dome, willing him on to land two elbow strikes to Leonard, knocking him back against the ropes.
On the outside, Violence is using the apron to pull himself back to his feet. The champion stands, dazed, attempting to regain his senses, before rolling into the ring. Leonard lands a limp kick to the gut, before signalling for the Leonardplex! He is unable to lift Richards however, and is forced to release the hold, staggering back.
A stand-off follows, with Richards, Leonard and Violence staring at one another. After a few moments, Violence turns towards Leonard’s and words are exchanged.
Ross: Thomas Richards may have made a mistake eliminating Paul Hill!
Richards watches as the two heels draw closer, aware of their intentions. After a few moments of conferring, Violence and Leonard turn to face Richards. Richards is breathing heavily, but a small smile forms across his face, before he orders the two men to “Bring It!”
The crowd cheer in approval, before Violence and Leonard draw closer to Richards, who backs away into the corner. The crowd chant for Richards, who steps forward with a punch to Violence, followed by a punch to Leonard, before repeating the performance, gaining the upper-hand, but not for long, with the double-team too much to overcome.
Richards is taken to the ropes, where the heel duo unleash a torrent of blows and kicks, which he is unable to defend himself against. Violence and Leonard step back momentarily, and Richards collapses in a heap on the canvas.
Violence and Leonard eye one another cautiously, their lack of trust evident, and they quickly returning their attention to the injured third party. After a brief exchange of words, Leonard stands over Richards, and signals for the Lancelock!
Heyman: Oh yes! Richards is done-for!
Leonard steps over the left arm of Richards, following by a 360 degree twist, so his legs are holding Richards’ arm in a hammerlock. He then goes to ground, reaches around the right arm of the opponent and hooks it under his own. He then applies the crossface to complete the move, as Richards gasps in agonising pain.
Ross: You might be right, Paul!
Richards gasps aloud, desperately trying to escape, willed on the by the capacity crowd, who begin a chant of “Let’s Go Richards!”. Richards, however, is virtually finished, and the official checks on him. The crowd continues their chant, whilst Violence orders the referee to make the decision. Suddenly Richards grits his teeth, letting out a gasp…
Leonard sinks back, applying maximum pressure, but Richards fights against the pain, and begins trying to free any part of his body he can, desperate to reach the ropes, which are mere inches away. Richards pushes with all his strength, trying to reach the ropes.
The crowd members that aren’t looking on in horror, will Richards on, and he responds accordingly. With a last attempt, he breaks his arm free, reaching for the ropes, only for Violence to stamp on his hand, to the loudest jeers of the evening!
Ross: This is completely unfair!
The referee orders Violence to step aside, whilst Richards slowly raises his hand once more. Leonard sinks back, using all of his strength, but Richards is able to place a finger on the rope, forcing the break, whilst the crowd jump up and down in celebration! The referee orders Leonard to break the hold, which he reluctantly does.
Ross: The damage may have been done, Thomas Richards is finished!
Leonard gets back to his feet. Unaware of the CCW World Heavyweight Champion, who stands behind him, as Leonard turns, he is met by a kick to the gut.
Violence hoists Leonard up onto his shoulders in a Fireman’s Carry, with his right arm cradling the neck. With his left hand, he tosses Leonard’ s legs into the air, at an angle, allows them to swing through toward the right. He catches them in his right arm to deliver the high-impact One Hitter-Quitter!
Violence immediately makes the cover…
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE!!!
Ross: Lance Leonard is gone! Josh Violence has let Leonard all but eliminate Thomas Richards, only to take him out!
Heyman: Leonard would’ve done the very same thing! It’s nothing personal!
Leonard is rolled to the outside, whilst a smug Violence looks towards the lifeless Richards.
Heyman: As I said at the beginning, all Violence has to do is let the challengers take one another out, then pick up the pieces!
Violence drags Richards towards the centre of the ring for the cover…
ONE!
TWO!!
THRE… SHOULDER UP!
Ross: Thomas Richards is still in this thing!
The crowd cheers, Violence hit’s the canvas in frustration, Richards lays, barely moving. Violence looks to the official, then makes a second cover…
ONE!
TWO!!
THR… NO!
Violence lets of a gasp of frustration, before climbing to his feet. He circles the ring, all the while looking down at Richards, before signalling for The Violator!
Heyman: Not for much longer, J.R!
Violence brings Richards to his feet, only for Richards to collapse to the canvas. Violence laughs, then draws Richards back to his feet, going behind to lift Richards for the pump-handle drop. Richards swings his elbow back before the move is applied, forcing Violence to release his grip. Richards falls to his knees, and crawls towards the rope.
Violence shakes the elbow strike off, before wiping blood from his face. He turns to Richards, who is attempting to reach a vertical base, and slowly stalks him, edging nearer and nearer.
Heyman: Its just a matter of time!
As Richards reaches his feet, Violence steps forward and attempts to apply the pump-handle drop for the second time, he raises Richards onto his shoulder, only for Richards to slip off the back, before pushing Violence towards the ropes and rolling him up for a pin.
The crowd jump to their feet!
ONE!
TWO!!
THR… KICK OUT!
Ross: So close!
Violence reaches his feet first, grabbing a handful of his opponents hair, before slapping him across the face and tossing him aside.
Heyman: I give Richards all the credit in the world for having the heart of a lion, but he’s on borrowed time!
Violence makes his way across the ring, sliding underneath the bottom rope and searching the ringside area…
Ross: What’s he searching for?
Violence finally comes to a halt. A smile forms on his face as he kneels down, before stepping up…
Heyman: How ironic! The weapon Richards refused to use against Violence is the very same one Violence will use to retain the title!
Violence raises the cricket-bat in the air, to deafening boos from the crowd. He climbs the steel steps and slowly enters the ring. Richards staggers against the ropes, looking at Violence. The referee shouts at Violence to drop the bat, but Violence pushes him aside.
Raising the cricket bat, Violence prepares to strike. He charges forward, met a drop toe-hold, which sends him into collision with the ropes, the bat rebounding into his face.
Violence staggers back, almost knocked out on his feet, and toward Richards, who struggles to hoist him onto his shoulders, but finally manages to raise him into position for the Diamond Head!
Heyman: No!
Almost everybody in the Dome is on their feet, cheering for The Lion to deliver the sit-out ganso bomb finisher, and he doesn’t disappoint then, dropping Violence onto his head, before collapsing on top of him for the cover!
The crowd count along with the referee…
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE!!!
The crowd explodes into celebration!
DING DING DING
Ross: Richards did it! Richards is the champion of the world!
Buffer: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this contest and the NEW CCW Heavyweight Champion of the World… “The Lion” THOMAS RICHARDS!
The crowd bounce up and down, whilst Richards falls back to a sitting position, exhausted. The referee stands before him, holding the prize, whilst Richards slowly climbs to his feet. He is handed the CCW World Heavyweight Championship, which he stares at, before falling to his knees. The referee raises Richards’ arm, whilst confetti drops from the rafters!
Ross: Thomas Richards is the new top man on Unleashed!
Heyman: I can’t believe it!
Richards peers out towards the crowd, before a smile forms on his face. He slowly stands, holding his back with one hand and the championship proudly above him, whilst cameras go off around the Georgia Dome. He makes his way across the ring to the turnbuckle, which he slowly climbs, before holding the belt before him, as fireworks are set off around the arena!
He steps down from the turnbuckle, staring out towards the crowd, reeling from his injuries, physically spent, shocked. He takes several moments to compose himself, before looking out towards the crowd, delivering his trademark roar, before falling back to his knees with the championship over his shoulder!
Ross: Ladies and gentlemen, we thank you for joining us on the greatest night in sports entertainment!
