Now I know we have a Comic/Film adaptation thread, but I believe this one takes preceadent over all others. If it's okay with the mod of this section, I'd like to have a thread dedicated to rumors, cast etc...

Why thank you Don. If there are no objections, I will begin. The latest news is Katie Holmes will NOT be returning. Who do you think should replace her?

I didn't think Katie Holmes did too bad of a job in Batman Begins. She wasn't awful, but she wasn't great either. I have no idea who should replace her.

Someone much more attractive . . . which leaves just about every other actress in the running.
As long as it's not her, then I have no problems. ;D

I'm assuming Dawes will be killed off by Joker early on. If that is the case a random unknown actress would work for me.

I think killing off the character would be best. This series has so much potential, and I don't want it blemished because a fugly bitch has a "Conflict of schedule".

I bet her role in the next one was just going to be small and she didn't want to do it.
Who do you want to see play Dent? Also, more importantly, but off topic, if they were to do adapt The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel who would play Batman?

Dent should be played by Ryan Phillipe OR Liev Schriver. Maybe go back to Forever and have him be played by Tommy Lee Jones

I'm not being a smart-ass M_C, I just don't understand the question. You mean an aging Batman? And I say Jack Fuckin' Twist for Dent.

And I say Jack Fuckin' Twist for Dent. Brokeback Batman~! If someone were to play an aging Bruce Wayne, I would love it to be Christopher Lambert OR David Carradine (I believe Wayne is/was 55 at the time of the Dark Knight Returns)

Yeah, an older Batman like in The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Strikes Again.
Gyllenhaal would be great, but it might be too tempting for the writers to throw in sexual tension between Dent and Joker.
LJB- Liev Schreiber would be okay too, but Tommy Lee Jones wouldn't work with everyone else being young.

And It also slipped my mind that you knew your shit. Regardless of sexual tension, I want to see Gyllenhaal as Dent. I think he is phenominal.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Liev Schreiber are good calls. To throw a name into the hat I would say Aaron Eckhart. I heard him mentioned and it stuck in my mind as not being too bad. I would love to see Peter Sarsgaard have a role but I can't see him as Dent.

I laughed at the thought of Gyllenhaal playing Dent but now I want it to be him. He is a great actor. They need an actor that can not only play the hero of Dent but he must be able to play the evil Two-Face in the 3rd film. It's a big task for the perfect actor who can play hero and villain under the same character.

SPOILERS ABOUT MOVIESNot to harp on it but Peter Sarsgaard appears as a hero in both Flightplan and The Skeleton Key (shit movies) but by the end of the movie he is a villain. Both were solid performances too.

How about Jim Caviezel? I think he would fair rather well.

It wouldn't bother me who played him just as long as they pull off both sides of Dent.
I quite like the idea of laurence fishburne playing Dent and Face.

I could see that happening (Fishburne). He's extremely versatile, and has an amazing delivery (when playing an antagonist, or protagonist). I think he has the look, and skills to pull it off. Amazing suggestion Roy!
