Hopefully I will soon have a job, so I wonder which system I should get with my money after a car payment.

I like both the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360,but I voted for Nintendo Wii as its Nintendo, and Nintendo is just classic.

Whatever you do, stay clear of the PS3. A friend of mine posted this in his blog:
"So the latest in the long string of woe from people foolish enough to buy the PS3... if you use any component cables except the Sony cables (sold separately), your warranty is voided. Basically Sony will claim that the non-Sony cables are the cause of any problem you're having. Total bullshit.
Add that to the evergrowing list of why the PS3 blows...
No worthwhile games for the system.
Many PS1 and PS2 games still do not work on it, despite it being advertised as 100% backwards compatible
Sony didn't bother to design the PS3 in a way that would allow it to interract with Sony's PSP system... something that left more than a few gamers scratching their heads in bewilderment.
Many popular games are 3rd party (as in they are made by groups other than Sony). Sadly, 3rd party game companies have said that Sony's asking price is far too high, and there's no way a game could make a profit because of the small userbase that the PS3 has. So that means fewer games for the system at the moment.
It's an over-priced piece of shit at $600. Oh, did we forget to mention that you have to buy extra items or else it's not really playable out of the box? Overall you're out of pocket $800.
Still, people are occasionally buying a PS3. Mainly because it's a Blu-Ray DVD player, but it costs about $400 cheaper than an actual Blu-Ray player. Of course I'll tell you, as I've been telling my customers, the new format war is worthless and odds are both will fail. If one survives, it probably won't be Blu-Ray.
So far the biggest mistake anyone has found with the Nintendo Wii is that it doesn't play DVD's... but who gives a shit? If you want a DVD player, go buy one. It's not like a standard player is that expensive. Personally, I'm tired of game systems that try to be something more than what they are."
It makes me glad I'm sticking with my original Xbox. I don't need nor want the 360.
While I doubt I'd invest in a Wii, at least it's innovative in its approach to playing. The only drawback is that you may be limited in what you can play successfully (I've heard first person shooters are crap on it).
Personally, you'd be best saving some $$ and just buying a PS2 or Xbox, but since those aren't one of your options, I went with the Wii.

Well I have a PS3 and I am completely satisfied with it. Your right about buying extra stuff JBB, I had to buy an HDMI cable, well it was optional but I did to get the games in HD which is fucking sweet. Also I bought a router to get internet, but the wireless internet is really nice and it was worth the money. It is not overpriced when you think about it, it is actually underpriced. It has a blu-ray player which is $400 dollars more, it also has the Internet where you can surf the web which is cool, I have actually posted on here by using the PS3. Resisitance is a great game and I reccomend it, the only problem is the games dark, not storyline wise, I mean lighting wise. But it is still great. The controllers are nice, better then XBOX IMO.
Bottom line Joker: I have talked to friends who have the Wii, they say it is awesome but it gets a little old and a little annoying sometimes, but then I have talked to people just the opposite where they say it is great and never gets old. The controller is probably the only thing to get it for, but IMO XBOX and and PS3 will have the more quality games like Halo, Metal Gear Solid, and GTA.
Here is what I will tell you Joker: Get either the PS3 or XBOX, but here is how to choose between them. If you are in to HD, blu-ray, internet surfing, free online gameplay (XBOX live cost $50 a year), if you are in to gaming and all this extra stuff which is worth the price, go with this. But if you just want gaming and no extras go with the XBOX 360. But IMO, PS3 has the brightest future of all 3 consoles, all it's features will get expierment with all it's features and more orignial games will come out and gameplay will be better, I don't know about XBOX 360 or Wii but PS3 has system updates, where if it is updated, you go to settigns on the menu and update whatever feature has been updated.
Also JBB, at 1st PS3 was advertised as 100% backwars compatatible, but a couple of weeks before it's release news reports came out that some games won't work. But really those are the more older games, most of the new games work.

I'll cast my vote for the 360. But this decision really comes down to what type of games you want to play. If you're into shooters and sports games, get a 360. If you're into old-school nintendo games, and motion controls buy a Wii. And if you're into spending too much money for somthing the 360 can do, buy a PS3. Joker, put your faith in me, and buy a 360.

[glow=red,2,300]PS3. I've bought and sold two now and I did manage to open one up and pop in Resistance: Fall of Man. Outstanding.
Now granted, that is just one game and it might not be the best one for the system, but I have also played both the XBox 360 and the Wii exactly one time each as I own neither and I gotta say... maybe Sony didn't live up to the hype they presented before the launch. Maybe the PS3 is overpriced at the moment.
But it's still a system that you will have fun with for a long time. So much to do.
About the games... give it time. The major franchises have yet to drop in and say hi.
Metal Gear Sollid GTA Devil May Cry Silent Hill Resident Evil Gran Turismo Final Fantasy etc.[/glow]

360, so obviously. EXCLUSIVE Games on the PS3 will be shite, I can only think of one game I would buy the console for: Metal Gear Solid 4. The Wii has some of the clumsiest technology built into it i.e. the controller, which is much less fun that just playing a game normally. I really can't think of any exclusive games on that I'd buy it for, similarly, as I pointed out, for the PS3. £350 for a PS3? And for what? A load of bullshit, that's what.
The 360 is a much better alternative. It already has Gears of War and Dead Rising released, is much cheaper than the PS3 and if you want good online capability, get the 360 for that (I don't actually care at all for this deature though, just for those of you who love it). Future games include: Half Life 2 WITH Episodes 1 & 2 and Halo 3. Both of these will no doubt be ***** games.
Actually, a version of MGS4 will eventually come out for the 360, so what am I worrying about? I've got the 360, and it has already provided me with more enjoyment than any other console ever. Resi Evil 5 is coming out on it too, so is the next Pro Evo. 360 pwns all. Any of you want to debate this? You can't, because you'll come up with bullshit such as online capabilities and backwards compatibility. Who gives a shit when a console provides top enjoyment?
Not me, obviously.

I don't care for the HD and Blu-Ray in all honestly, but w/e floats ya boat. As for the Wii, it's Nintendo, and you can't go wrong with that. Now as for the 360,
